AIBA Board Meeting Update April, 2007

The AIBA Board of Directors met Thursday, April 26 in a regular meeting that offered additional time for discussing member retention and recruitment. The group decided to initiate a membership campaign to run through mid-July; members will be encouraged as a part of that campaign to bring in buddies. As a reward, participating members who meet recruitment campaign criteria will have a chance to compete for more than 25 prizes. Details of the campaign will be publicized in emails to membership and announced at the regular networking even scheduled for June 6, 2007 at Aurora Publishing.

In addition, the board voted to offer two year memberships at a fee of $200, a $50 reduction from the current $125 per year. There is no change in the one year member option. The new proposal would go into effect in time for the membership campaign.

Leila Johnson confirmed that AIBA will participate in the Governor's Economic Development Conference September 27th and updated the group on the status on an ongoing proposal to the City of Albuquerque Office of Economic Development.

Rebecca Dakota, Executive Director, discussed final details for the Burque Blooming event. She announced that Aurora Publishing will host the June networking meeting on June 6, 2007 at their offices. Finally, Rebecca discussed the membership recruitment campaign materials and solicited committee member suggestions to work with Elissa Breitbard on Indie Week activities.
