Does Anyone NOT Love Cheesecake?
I confess. One of my biggest secret, guilty pleasures is Sara Lee cheesecake - when it's still somewhat frozen. However, as much as I enjoy cooking and baking I've somehow never really "done" cheesecakes. But, then why should I - when we've got members like Mark Delaney of Oh Heavens Cheesecake?(He also started the biz just as the economy was tanking, undeterred by all the doom and gloom.)
Having been written up in the Abq Journal recently (Any way you slice it, cheesecake rules. You'll have to click through a trial pass to read) - OHC sold out for the day.
OHC makes a killer cake - and in 350 flavors. But, that's not the only reason they're doing so well; they also get out and about - letting people taste their product and creating relationships. If you see Mark, you know a cheesecake is somewhere nearby. OHC knows simply offering quality is not enough; people have to know about it and know you. (Mark will be at the next Think Local! lunch club on July 8 - when Mary Ellen Merrigan will be talking about customer loyalty, something OHC already knows something about...;-)
