How can I show support for AIBA?

This question (How can I show support for AIBA) came up at a recent committee meeting. Great question. Showing support is something anyone can do. You don't have to be a committee member or board member. Anyone in the organization can show ongoing support for AIBA in a number of ways.
This list includes a few ideas. Please add your own ideas/comments below.
- Display the AIBA member logo on your storefront. Every member receives a sticker. If you do not have a storefront, consider adding the sticker to your car.
- Add AIBA to your signature line in email. You don’t have to be an officer of an organization or a member of its board to promote your affiliation. If more members tout their affiliation, the word will spread. I’ve seen a few signature variations:
- Member of the Albuquerque Independent Business Alliance http://www.keepitquerque.org We're All In This Together! Buy, Eat & THINK Local!
- Member of the Albuquerque Independent Business Alliance (AIBA) www.keepitquerque.org. Buy Local & Keep It Querque!
- Buy local!
Member of AiBA (Albuquerque Independent Business Alliance) - Buy local. Keep it Querque!
Name (Your Name, Title)
AIBA
- Add the AIBA logo to your website.
- Speak up. Tell local businesses you “Buy Local.” Ask them to become members of AIBA.
- Tell other businesses they can join AIBA online.
- Speak up #2. Invite your friends, peers and fellow business owners to join AIBA. Bring them to a networking event as your guest.
- Participate. Sign up for a committee. Volunteer to help at an event. Donate a door prize. I fielded a complaint from a member who stated: “I’m tired to seeing/hearing the same people mentioned.”
- Join the AIBA Fan Club on Facebook. Membership is open. Feel free to invite your own friends to participate.
- Join Duke City Fix and get in on the local discussion.
- Comment on local news stories or discussion boards and mention AIBA or “Buy Local.”
- It's not just Albuquerque! Spread the "Buy Local" word when you travel. Visit local restaurants and local stores wherever you are and tell people about the results!
Most importantly, make the ongoing effort. This is a process. Growth doesn’t happen in a vacuum or overnight. It takes all of us working together to make a discernable difference. Start now.
